I loved the jokes and writing, it didn't feel cringey. Sure the dialogue was weird but it made sense for the characters, like they're all dorks and they would speak like that. We even rewound a few scenes for explanations, only to discover there were none. This was a confusing jumble of anachronisms and special affects that happens to have characters with names. I've never seen such a hodge-podge of genres and cringy dialogue. It was like a preteen: experimenting with everything to understand what it is, only to discover that it's too undeveloped to reach an understanding. Season 1 may have had some pacing issues at the get go, but the story was unfolding, geography and cultures were being laid out, and characters were being established. Let a flower bloom! The series definitely checked my nostalgic box with corresponding emotional responses. The characters were charming and fun. In addition, I have to say, the wizard battles at the end of the season were some of the neatest special/visual effects I've seen in a minute. So yea, Disney +. Bring that back.
