About this product

Product Information

  • From renowned cardiac surgeon and acclaimed author Dr. Steven R. Gundry, the companion cookbook to New York Times bestselling The Plant Paradox , offering 100 easy-to-follow recipes and four-color photos. In the New York Times bestseller The Plant Paradox , Dr. Steven Gundry introduced readers to the hidden toxins lurking in seemingly healthy foods like tomatoes, zucchini, quinoa, and brown rice: a class of plant-based proteins called lectins. Many people are familiar with one of the most predominant lectins--a substance called gluten, which is found in wheat and other grains. But while cutting out the bread and going gluten-free is relatively straightforward, going lectin-free is no small task. Now, in The Plant Paradox Cookbook , Dr. Gundry breaks down lectin-free eating step by step and shares one hundred of his favorite healthy recipes. Dr. Gundry will offer an overview of his Plant Paradox program and show readers how to overhaul their pantries and shopping lists to make delicious, simple, seasonal, lectin-free meals. He'll also share his hacks for making high-lectin foods safe to eat, including methods like pressure-cooking grains and peeling and deseeding tomatoes. With a quick-start program designed to boost weight loss and recipes for smoothies, breakfasts, main meals, snacks, and desserts, The Plant Paradox Cookbook will show readers of The Plant Paradox --and more--how delicious it can be to eat lectin-free.

Lose weight, and feel better. Winning combo

After years of suffering with gastrointestinal problems, I stumbled upon Dr. Gundry’s research for supplements and diet to heal your gut. The book which included recipes, was less than $20 and I also spent about $100 investing in the right foods to promote a healthier lifestyle. In two weeks I have noticed a remarkable improvement.

    Not famous enough for this!

After I read a few things to my husband he said "no, this is unrealistic for us". Unless you are a celebrity with staff that can keep you on track this is impossible to follow. So I'm donating the book in case someone else wants to give it a try.

    Brilliant!

The chemistry of humans evolves at a snail's pace while our food production and distribution has taken off in a revolutionary manner, swift as the wind, and often to the detriment of many of us. As a result, we see more autoimmune conditions than ever before. Consequently, , we need a new look, a new take, on how to address the disparity between evolution v. revolution. Dr. Gundry addresses this issue in great detail and makes a vital and powerful case for amending the way we choose what we eat..

    Certainly is a 'Paradox'.

On a quest to reduce pain and inflammation, I started to read The Plant Paradox book, then opted to buy the cookbook. The Plant Paradox is explained in a shorter version with many yummy recipes available to follow. It is an expensive way to eat, but I plan to slowly change what I can and do what I am able to afford. It is a very eye opening explanation of why so many foods we think are good for us actually are bad.

The title reveals the books content.

This is a wonderful book. It not only gives recipes that helps one obtain delicious variety in cooking and eating while following the Plant Paradox method of eating, it starts with a review of the salient points which provide the form the reason for the diet program. Not only is the "summary" of the Plant Paradox way of life found in Dr. Gundry's book by the same name, additional information he has garnered is presented in an easy reading style; but his "matter-of-fact", "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude was refreshing. It showed he is not in it for the money as many purport, rather, he just wants to help people have a better life by living longer and feeling better as they do. As many people have found, his eating system works and has been proved by him through scientific studies, positive experiences with patients in his medical practice, and personal experiences as he "practices what he preaches" in his own life. He and his wife follow the Plant Paradox method of eating everyday. I highly recommend this book.Read full review
