Scottsboro, Alabama John Carter Haislip 1957 — 2024 John Carter Haislip, age 66, passed away peacefully at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Haislip and brother, David Haislip both of Scottsboro, AL; daughter Abigail Elam and son-in-law Craig Elam of Cumming, GA and Abigail's mother, Sally Haislip of Hiawassee, GA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Craig H Nielsen Foundation for spinal cord injury research in John's memory. He was born in Rogersville, Tennessee, to George Rogers Campbell and Dana Jennings Campbell. Joe graduated from Friendsville High School then the University of Tennessee and remained a loyal Volunteer fan. He married Evelyn Kaye Blackburn and raised five children.
