These Best Smoked Side Dishes are some of my family’s favorite dishes to whip up! The holidays are even better with smoked meat, so I also love to throw a side dish in the smoker. Plus, in the summer, the comfort foods won’t heat up your house when you cook them on the smoker!

Now making comfort food in my Pit Boss Pro 1100 is my favorite. So why not throw in a side dish for the holidays too?? I picked up my Pit Boss Pro at Lowes, but WalmartandAmazon carry other Pit Boss options or thePit Boss website themselves.I did consider a Traeger pellet grill, but at the time, the Pitboss was the option I went with.

Supplies For Making Smoked Side Dishes

Aluminum Foil Pans– Disposable pans are a great way to make some side dish recipes. Often the bottoms will get dirty from the smoker, or the food will crust on to the pan. To be able to throw away the pan vs. scrubbing the dishes is a great option. I tend to always do my macaroni, cheese, and queso in these pans.

Large Mixing Bowls– Having a large mixing bowl makes sit easy to mix together the ingredients before they go into the cooking pans. You can use a hand mixer in it as well for some recipes.

Food Processor– Many side dishes can be heavy in Parmesan Cheese, Cheddar cheese, Feta Cheese, Gouda cheese, and Mozzarella Cheese. We tend to save money by buying the bricks of cheese at a local grocery store or Costco and shredding them ourselves.

Cast Iron– Many of these tasty side dish recipes will cook well in a cast iron skillet or a cast iron Dutch oven. The dish may be harder to clean but the flavor of cast iron with smoking foods is never a disappointment.
