Recipe Variations

These instant pot biscuits are full of amazing fall flavor as is, but you may want to try these variation suggestions.

  • Change the spices – if you don’t have pumpkin pie spice you can try apple pie spice instead. You can also use cinnamon or even a touch of ground ginger.
  • Add herbs – sage and pumpkin pair beautifully. Add a bit of dried or chopped fresh sage to the dough before baking.
  • Top it off – Top them with something yummy. We suggest apple butter, maple butter or a drizzle of maple glaze, which can be made by combining maple syrup, powdered sugar, and milk.

FAQS

I Don’t Like Pumpkin. Can I leave It Out?

You can omit the pumpkin, but you will need to replace it with something else. We suggest swapping it for the same amount of mashed sweet potato or butternut squash.

What If I Don’t Have Buttermilk?

While I tend to think all recipes that call for Buttermilk should use actual buttermilk, I know what it’s like to not always have some on hand. So, for the times you don’t have any extra buttermilk to use, try making your own.

Check out myhow to make buttermilkpostto learn how easy it is to make your own homemade buttermilk. And, go ahead and make extra and freeze it so you always have extra on hand when you need it!!!
