Tot op heden zijn er in Addis Abeba alleen al 240.000 woningen gebouwd. Het zijn vooral appartementen, die kleine, onbebouwde percelen in het bestaande stedelijk weefsel opvullen of de woningen op het terrein van de voormalige sloppenwijken vervangen.
